Dan Hall

Band leader, electric and acoustic bass – He has played electric and acoustic bass in house bands in all the major casinos in Reno and Lake Tahoe, Nevada; freelanced in Austin, Texas; and performed in numerous live stage shows and big bands in Branson, Missouri, including the Lawrence Welk Orchestra and Les Brown’s Band of Renown.
Since moving to Virginia in 2006 he has played string bass, electric bass, and fretless electric bass in musical theater productions at The Kennedy Center, Arena Stage, Ford’s Theater, Montgomery College, the University of Maryland, Signature Theater, Studio Theater, Shakespeare Theater, and the Hippodrome Theater in Baltimore, as well as playing in small jazz combos and local big bands.
He has been an advocate for young bass players as a member of the adjunct faculty at the University of Maine in Augusta and the University of Nevada in Reno. He has numerous private students at his home in Falls Church.

Marty Knepp

Drums and percussion – is a Maryland native. He got his start in music at the age of 6 with a gift from his late uncle – a drum set. After many drum lessons and a move to Crofton, he got the chance to work with Arundel High School band director, Dr Phil Butts. It was during that time that he developed a love for playing jazz and for playing in a big band. After graduation from Arundel High School, Marty received his musical education from Shenandoah Conservatory of Music. He is currently an Associate Professor of Music at Anne Arundel Community College where he leads the Jazz Ensemble and has a percussion studio. Marty is also member of the Vic Firth Education Team.
Current musical projects include: “Ehoff.Gano.Knepp” which just released their second CD titled “Lawn Maintenance”, Big Band Caliente, which he leads, he is also musical director for the Star Dust Orchestra, Blue Moon Big Band, Mike Kamuf Little Big Band, Set Theory( which he Co leads with Dr Mark Cook), Dale Corn Orchestra. Marty is regularly invited to work with local college and high school jazz ensembles and percussionist. He has shared the stage with Chris Vadala, Mike Stern, Mark Pender, Charlie Daniels, Shenna Easton and many other great musicians.

 

Chelle Fulk

Violin, electric 5-string fiddle, vocals – Chelle’s background in Celtic music, classical violin, and a love of improvisational styles have taken her to gigs all over the world. Chelle refers to herself as a “fiddlist” — part fiddler, part violinist. She is an accomplished violist and singer, and loves playing the electric 5-string fiddle.
She can be found on stage or in the studio with Celtic, jazz, pop and rock bands, classical string trios and quartets, Latin ensembles and more. Besides playing Celtic fiddle and electric violin with her band, Keltish, she performs with the Anthem String Quartet and has appeared with Coyote Run and String Theorists. She loves playing for dancers, which shows in her performances with Dance-tet, and she entertains instrumentally and vocally with Music by Anthem. Chelle, like most musicians, has a passion for unusual instruments is prone to spending the rent money on musical toys.Charles Jablow – piano, organ, synthesizer, keyboards – brings energy and a passion for music performance to Dan Hall Music’s ensembles. His experience includes a wide range of styles: Rock, Pop, Funk, R&B, Country, Blues, Jazz, Fusion, and Classical. He is a versatile producer, arranger, and studio musician.
Charles is a band leader in his own right, having put together many bands that went on to gig successfully locally and regionally. He played with The Hutchens (aspiring Nashville country band); Oldies acts such as: Percy Sledge, The Coasters, the Exciters, Anthony and the Imperials, The Belmonts, Jackie Wilson, The Happenings, many others. He has been in dance bands, show bands, straight ahead jazz groups, big bands. He has over 25 years’ experience as a musician, band leader, and manager.

 

Charles Jablow

Piano, organ, synthesizer, keyboards – brings energy and a passion for music performance to Dan Hall Music’s ensembles. His experience includes a wide range of styles: Rock, Pop, Funk, R&B, Country, Blues, Jazz, Fusion, and Classical. He is a versatile producer, arranger, and studio musician.
Charles is a band leader in his own right, having put together many bands that went on to gig successfully locally and regionally. He played with The Hutchens (aspiring Nashville country band); Oldies acts such as: Percy Sledge, The Coasters, the Exciters, Anthony and the Imperials, The Belmonts, Jackie Wilson, The Happenings, many others. He has been in dance bands, show bands, straight ahead jazz groups, big bands. He has over 25 years’ experience as a musician, band leader, and manager.
Charles enjoys arranging background vocals, MIDI (digital music systems), and horn sections. He creates well-crafted set lists that fill dance floors and have the dancers loving every moment.
Charles studied privately from regional and nationally-known artists in classical, popular, and jazz such as Jeff Antoniuk, Bill Hanna, and Jamey Abersold.
